How It All Started

It’s been many years since we first laid eyes on a Chihuahua back in the mid-90s. It happened on Biscayne Boulevard in Miami Beach.

That day, in a place full of distractions and colorful sights, something caught our attention in a big way: a woman proudly walking her Chihuahua.

We had no idea how much that moment would change our lives. That tiny little creature with oversized ears, round eyes, and expressive movements completely captivated us.

A Lifelong Journey with Chihuahuas

In 1997, we began what would become a lifelong journey — breeding this extraordinary breed known as the Chihuahua. And today, nearly 30 years later, the adventure continues.

Who would have imagined that one day our Chihuahuas would be living on five continents?

Expanding Our Experience

In 1999, we introduced the Yorkshire Terrier and later the Pomeranian (also known as the German Spitz). We bred these wonderful breeds with great success until the summer of 2017, when we decided to return fully and exclusively to our true passion — the Chihuahua, which we truly believe is the best small breed in the world.

Our Focus: 100% Chihuahuas

Today, 100% of the dogs we breed are Chihuahuas. We have two breeding locations in Spain — one in Valencia and another in Marbella. From these cities, our puppies are sent to families all over the world.

From Spain to the World

In Spain, our puppies can be found in every single province — without exception. In fact, a large number of our Chihuahuas live in major cities like Madrid and Barcelona.

Family Comes First

We only place our puppies with families. It doesn’t matter where in the world they live — but you will never see a Villa del Rey Chihuahua in a pet store window.

Raised with Care

Every puppy we raise comes directly from our breeding program and carries the Villa del Rey name. Each one is lovingly raised by us and trained using our own methods for socialization and development.

Education Makes the Difference

This early education is where we invest most of our time — because we know it’s the foundation of everything. It’s what makes our Chihuahuas different.

Our Mission

We’re proud of how far we’ve come. It hasn’t been easy. Breeding takes real dedication, sleepless nights, and a lot of sacrifice. And yet, we know this journey is far from over.

We feel a deep responsibility to give our very best — to contribute to the improvement of this amazing breed. Because that’s what true breeding is about: making each generation better than the last.
